Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
